Young campers have been exploring nature's playground here on Cape Cod for generations. The Monomoy Day Camp is a traditional summer camp located on Cape Cod and has been operating since 1965. Established in 1922 the Cape Cod Sea Camps has developed a long tradition of camping excellence. CCSC is located on Cape Cod Bay in Brewster with a second site on Long Pond. Sailing is a popular activity at our day camp program but we try to emphasize a wide variety of activities such as swimming, arts, land sports, archery, woodworking and many others. With a seven week season campers have the ability to come for one to seven weeks of camp. As well as our regular day camp program we also offer a great introduction to the overnight camp experience. Sponsored by Mass Audubon. The Sanctuary's 1110 acres will give your child the opportunity to explore the tidal flats, salt marsh, woodlands, freshwater ponds, and fields! Sports Camps & Programs



All Cape Hoop Camp and Rookie Camp, Hyannis 508-429-7121. Featuring co-ed basketball camps for ages 8 - 17, newly located in the beautiful brand new Hyannis Youth & Community Center. Two sessions for summer of 2010: June 26 - July 3 + July 31- Aug. 5. Both sessions include the Rookie Camp for boys and girls 8-11 and the All Cape Camp for boys and girls 12 to 17. The veteran staff works to instruct as well as provide an atmosphere for competitive games and solid drilling in the basics of basketball. Both sessions feature a visit from former Celtic great Tom "Satch" Sanders whose presence will make this a great season of basketball.

Barrybrook Stables Riding Lessons & Summer Day Program: 210 South Westgate Rd., Harwich.  508-430-5393. A hunter-jumper showbarn dedicated to the student with summer horsemanship programs for children 6 and up. Weekly sessions are available Monday - Friday, 9am - 2pm. Kids learn basic horsemanship and stable management.

The Soundview Sports Summer Day Camp, Osterville. The program is designed to teach sportsmanship and proper skills to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14. Kids are taught basic to advanced skills in soccer, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, flag football, tennis, golf, street hockey and volleyball at beautiful Cape Cod Academy. Kids may attend for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 sessions and pick 4 different activities for each session. Summer Horsemanship Day Camp programs for horse-enthusiastic kids 5-18. Various programs available for all levels, beginner to experienced competitive riders. Woodsong is open year round offering riding instruction in hunt seat and dressage, boarding and competitive training of the horse and rider. On site tack shop for your riders needs. Town Programs

Most Cape towns offer summer programs for kids at minimal cost. Many towns allow visitors to participate as well as residents. General information and phone numbers are below:

Sandwich: 508-888-4361. The Sandwich Recreation department offers lessons in: swimming, sailing, tennis, basketball, arts & crafts and more. Call for schedule and information. The Sandwich Community School (part of school department) offers a variety of classes for kids. Call them at 508-888-5300.

Bourne: 508-743-3003. Activities include tennis, swimming, musical theater, hip-hop dance & a summer day-program. Programs are available for residents only.

Falmouth: 508-457-2567. A town-sponsored playground program begins after 4th of July weekend. Swimming and tennis lessons are coordinated through the Recreation Dept.

Mashpee: 508-477-8300. Summer program includes swimming lessons, gymnastic camp, baseball, scuba diving, golf and tennis lessons.

Hyannis: 508-790-6345. Programs offered: basketball, improvisational workshop, Sandy Neck Ranger Program, Seaside Yoga, baseball, In-line skating, skateboard program, open-gym, rollerskating, self-defense, kindergarten creative arts, roller hockey, swimming, junior lifeguard training, lifeguard training, gymnastics, dance (preschool dance, intro to dance, jazz dance), tennis & sailing. Most class sessions run 6 weeks and cost $45 (some cost more) Programs available on first-come, first-serve basis. Residents first, but if space is available, visitors & non-resident grandchildren are welcome to participate for an additional non-resident fee.

Dennis: 508-760-6162. Summer playground programs, as well as sailing and swimming lessons are available.

Harwich: Harwich public schools provide day-camp for students K-7th grade. Sports, crafts, computers, beach, field trips and more. 7:30-5:30. 508-430-2355

Brewster: Offering programs from Toddlers to Seniors. Youth sports include: Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Basketball. After-school programs: Flag Football, Rock climbing, Mad Science, Scrapbooking among many others. Summer: Playground Program, Sailing & Swimming Lessons. Orleans: 508-240-3785. The town sponsors a varied recreation program available to residents and visitors. Programs include swimming lessons, arts and crafts, day trips and more. The Adult Education Dept. of the school district offers, Nauset Kids Programs, Orleans (508-255-4300); activities include sailing, art classes, kayaking, pottery, steel drums, power boat instruction, yoga and so much more.

Eastham: 508-240-7211 (Chamber of Commerce). Eastham offers an extensive summer schedule for families. Check posters displayed at the post office for current information.

Wellfleet: 508-349-0330. Wellfleet offers a wide variety of sports, arts, crafts and other fun-filled activities including swimming lessons at Gull Pond (residents & visitors welcome).

Truro: 508-487-1632. The Rec. Department offers a variety of marvelous kids activities all summer including swimming and tennis. Call for schedule.

Provincetown: 508-487-7097. The Provincetown Recreation department offers everything imaginable for kids throughout the summer, including arts and crafts, karate, dance, swimming, basketball and more. Call for information.

Briarwood Summer Camps, Monument Beach 508-759-7763
Marine and Sailing Campers stay at Briarwood Marine Science Center, located on Little Bay, just over the Bourne Bridge. The camp is affiliated with the Dexter & Southfield Schools outside of Boston and offers one week overnight sessions for sailing and marine science.

Burgess/Hayward Camp, Sandwich. 508-428-2571. This camp is run by the YMCA . Located on 400+ acres with 3 ponds.. Programs include arts/crafts, backpacking, bike trips, canoe trips, horseback riding, sailing, nature, and more. ACA Accredited.

This Christian camp sits on 214 acres and includes a half-mile of sandy beach on a lovely lake. Interspersed about the wooded property are over 50 permanent buildings. Shamlian Hall houses dining rooms, library, chapel, snack bar and offices. ACA Accredited.
